Reunifying Orphans and Street Children
Reunifying Orphans and Street Children
Reunifying Orphans and Street Children in Tanzania-Subsaharan Africa: Every child deserves to belong and grow up in a family, not in an orphanage or on the streets.
The Challenge We Face
Tanzania faces a significant challenge, with approximately 3,000,000 most vulnerable children (MVCs) living without parental care or at risk of losing it. This includes double orphans, maternal orphans, paternal orphans, and children cared for by the elderly or siblings. In Dar es Salaam alone, there are over 2,900 children living in street situations, with many lacking basic services. These children are at high risk of abuse, malnutrition, and exploitation.
Our Solution: Family Reunification and Education
Our organization's mission is to build schools and reunify children with their families, addressing the root causes of separation such as poverty and lack of education. By providing comprehensive support, we aim to create a sustainable solution that ensures the well-being and development of these children.
Costs and Impact
Let us break it down for you. The cost to reunify one child with their family and provide ongoing support is as follows:
Initial Reunification Cost per Child: $500
This includes transportation, documentation, and initial counselling sessions.
Annual Support per Child: $1,200
This covers education, healthcare, nutritional support, and ongoing counselling.
Total 5-Year Commitment per Child: $6,500
This ensures long-term stability and support for the child and family.
It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference. Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sounds like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest.
